The fetchery- some fetching thoughts (and other puns as well)

I'm not completely sure why, but I felt compelled to drop in and make a few posts, possibly. Arsh agreed, so here we are, my contribution #1 and first ever post on one of these.

As I joined Google+, one of my first conversations (unsurprisingly) with an old friend was about Fetch. He asked what it was, and I linked him a couple of mostly appropriate but random websites to further explain my comments. One of them talked about how Fetch lives only in the current moment, which pushed me forwards on some of my own theories I had been working out.

Background:
Fetch is, in short, your spirit guide, your guardian angel, your spirit animal, and more. It is often opposite in gender, and guides you with flashes of inspiration even should you be totally ignorant of it. It can appear to different people as many different things (see above examples). It also processes and delivers information.

Basic Facts:
Fetch provides you with information including and beyond your current senses.
Fetch lives only in the current moment.
Fetch operates off a similar concept to quantum physics.

Theory:
It follows that Fetch is the reason for both deja vu and that phenomenon where, having forgotten something, you return to where you last thought of it and perform similar actions to bring it back to mind.

Explanation:
You see, Fetch is not bound by, and in fact does not observe, our accepted assumptions of linear space and time. If you make one point in space (and/or time) similar to another, you may have 'echoes' of another time/place that is similar. If you 'lose' some information, make your circumstances similar, and you make both of those 'places' similar as well. Thus your Fetch may well be able to 'see' that information 'nearby' and 'retrieve' it from that 'location,' thereby bringing it back to the consious mind in the current moment.

More to come,

  1. So, the Fetch notices your active request for knowledge, hears your will, and is able to find the information within your subconscious? Or is it residue outside yourself from where the knowledge is collected? Or both?
If it lives in the current moment, does it retain in past information?
I am very interested in Fetches now... it's not something I've thought of in QUITE sometime.

  2. So the Fetch is the part of your subconscious that transcends traditional concepts of time and makes long term memory possible? (amongst other things, obviously)

  3. Abi- to answer, either and both. :] Wherever it is stored.
Also, it doesn't 'hear' your will so much as act with it... it's often envisioned as a separate entity, but is more an extension of your self (like an arm) that also transcends you.
'Past' information is something of a misnomer... 'Past' is just as nebulous as 'future' in chaos magic theory. What has happened is almost as malleable to the mind/will/essence as what will happen. :] So it 'retains' the past much like you do in a way... Ever have someone else remember an event distinctly differently than you? What if neither of you were wrong?

Gabriel- Yes! As you said, amongst other things. :] I don't have research links for it, but did you know that they actually can't find any part of the brain that stores memories? There are people with brain damage in the theorized areas who have no problems with memory, and healthy people with crap memories. There was one guy who studied human and dolphin brains and theorized that the way our brain works with memory is more like a radio... tuning into certain frequencies rather than working like a computer. Of course, that was laughed at by other specialists, but...
